resources. Students are able to access these resources at school as
well as at home. These resources are all educationally based and are a

Scholastic BookFlix is a new online literacy
resource that pairs classic video storybooks from Weston Woods with
related nonfiction eBooks from Scholastic to build a love of reading and
learning. The engaging way to link fact and fiction, BookFlix reinforces
early reading skills and introduces children to a world of knowledge and
exploration.
Accuweather gives students access to weather
conditions around the globe, including forecasts, maps, radar, satellite
imaging, past weather information, hurricane information, a news center,
blogs, ski reports and much more.

for online videos. Students can use WatchKnow to search for online
videos by subject or by keyword(s). WatchKnow then searches
YouTube, TeacherTube, SchoolTube and Google Videos. Videos are
approved for content, rated and sorted by category, and educational
level. This is a free site so students can sign up for their own
accounts.
The Library of Congress is the nation's oldest federal
cultural institution and serves as the research arm of
Congress. It is also the largest library in the world,
with
millions of books, recordings, photographs, maps and
manuscripts in its collections. The Library's
mission is to make its resources available and useful to
the Congress and the American people and to sustain and
preserve a universal collection of knowledge and
creativity for future generations.
The Library of Congress has over 12 million primary
source documents. There is also an Ask the
Librarian button at the top of the home page. I am
told that if you can't find what you are looking for the
librarians at the Library of Congress will bend over
backwards to help you in your search.
If you want to personalize your experience at the LOC
website, go to myloc.gov and register for your own free
account. With this free account you can collect
your favorite exhibit items, enjoy interactive
activities and tour their online museum. Teachers
can also access lesson plans organized around books and
items on display.
