MISSIONS

COLUMBAN FATHERS MISSIONS
Columban Fathers Missions.  In addition to learning about the work of the Columban Fathers in countries like Peru, Korea and Chile, we hope that our students see themselves as missionaries in life.  This program presents the opportunity to help us to follow Jesus and to nourish our faith by:

bullet

Awakening in us an appreciation of the relationship between people of different nations and cultures.

bullet

Help us share the pains and struggles of the developing nations of the world.

bullet

Help us celebrate the riches of mission churches.

bullet

Encourage us to accept our responsibility for missionary outreach.

bullet

Challenge us to help create a more just world.

We are grateful to the Columban Fathers for the work they do, and the opportunity to help them with this mission of faith each year.

HEIFER INTERNATIONAL
This non-profit organization provides gifts of livestock to families around the world.

The gift of a dairy goat, for example, can supply a family with up to several quarts of nutritious milk a year.  Extra milk may be sold for additional income or used to make butter, cheese or yogurt.  Goats also can have two or three kids per year, enabling the families to start small dairies that pay for food, health care and education.

Heifer International helps hungry people feed themselves, earn income and care for the environment.  This program helps families become self-reliant.

PROJECT HOPE
Project Hope provides tuition assistance to families not able to afford Catholic School education.

LY CHILDHOOD ASSOCIATION
The missions recipient for the jeans day on Thursday, April 1, is Holy Childhood Association. Through HCA support, children in developing countries who have been affected by war, poverty and forced labor receive care, education,  hope and support for becoming caring members of society. This organization provides the opportunity for our children to help other children.
